Avenues of Ministry at Agape: 1. Ministry to Boys on the Street 2. Agape Children's Ministry, Kisumu 3. New Generation Academy 4. Agape Children's Ministry, Vocational Training Center Ministry to Boys on the Street Because we cannot rescue all of the children on the street, we maintain a regular ministry to boys who remain on the streets. We go to the streets each week and on Sundays and Wednesdays our Drop-In Center provides games, medical treatment, and ultimately the Gospel message to these boys before providing them with a meal. Steve and Dianne Warn are the Directors of our Street/Outreach Ministry. Agape Children’s Ministry, Kisumu When boys are rescued off the streets they are taken to the Agape Children’s Ministry compound in Kisumu, where they are housed, fed, loved, and cared for. Our national team of house parents, guards, and cooks care for the children. In addition to physical and emotional care, our children are cared for spiritually as well. The Gospel is presented regularly and our boys attend our Agape church each Sunday. Mike and Karen Herscowitz are the Directors of Agape Children’s Ministry, Kisumu. New Generation Academy On the Kisumu campus we have a Primary School called New Generation Academy, which educates our boys as well as outside students (including girls). During the week, Monday through Friday, our boys are in the classroom being taught by our dedicated, national teaching staff. Agape Children’s Ministry, Vocational Training Center Not all of our boys excel in the classroom with text books and writing assignments. For our boys who struggle academically, we have an alternative—“The Farm” which is a Vocational Training Center in Matoso, Kenya. Currently we offer training in motor-vehicle mechanics, carpentry, masonry, and agriculture. Tom and Marg Tucker are the Directors of Agape’s Vocational Training Center. |
